Cote' and Howe Realty Merges with KW Maine

The Cote and Howe Realty office on Maple Street in Cornish is sporting a new Keller Williams Realty sign outside, while inside the dedicated agents are still providing the same top-notch service to buyers and sellers as they have since 1995, now with additional tools and resources for both their clients and themselves. From the perspective of their clients, the office will remain essentially unchanged, and yet the consumer will now have access to technology, search engines, and buyer and seller guides not previously available to them, and their listings will be exposed to a powerful in-house network of over 500 KW Maine agents.

Cote and Howe Owner Paul Howe, a Maine agent for over 40 years, said that the affiliation with Keller Williams Realty will allow their eleven agents to continue to act as a small local agency while also being able to tap into the resources and technology provided by the Keller Williams franchise and Keller Williams Worldwide. “The systems, tools and educational opportunities we have access to at Keller Williams will be of such great benefit to our buyers and sellers as well as to the agents here in our Cornish office,” said Howe of the merger. “We are excited about this new opportunity and the benefits of being part of a larger enterprise which allows us to retain a strong local presence in Cornish. It’s really the best of both worlds.”

The agents in the Cornish office help buyers and sellers of village and rural countryside properties, antique farmhouses, lakefront vacation homes, investment timber opportunities, raw land and commercial space. Centrally located in York county in one of the most beautiful regions of our State, the Cornish location provides easy access to the foothills region of the White Mountains along the ME/NH border. Since Keller Williams Realty is licensed in both Maine and New Hampshire, agents who are dually licensed can service clients on both sides of the border.

Brad Knowles, Team Leader of Keller Williams Realty (KW Maine), said of the merger, “We are excited to get into business with this group of agents from Cote and Howe, to share our systems, models and tools with them, and to help all the agents run their businesses as best they can. Our leadership team, marketing and concierge teams, in-house coaches, and investor group are all looking forward to adding value to these agents. We believe that each agent IS his or her own brand, and we strive to add value to each one personally and professionally, every single day.”

Cote and Howe is the most recent merger of several over the past decade. Many agencies retain their original branding as a team "powered by" the Keller Williams Realty name while others merge their agents into the agency as independent agents. Commercial companies Magnusson Balfour Commercial & Business Brokers, Fishman Realty, Sullivan Multi Family, and residential agencies RE/MAX River Cities, All Points, and O’Leary & Saxby Real Estate, Inc. have joined KW and remain vibrant members of the agency.

KW Maine is a diverse group of agents, geographically, personally, and professionally, brought together by a culture of sharing, productivity, and growth mindset. When owners of independent companies decide to focus on doing what they typically do best – selling real estate – they know that they are making the right decision to affiliate with an agency where they can easily leverage education and training, compliance and technology, and proven systems for the betterment of their agents and their own businesses.

With seven locations in Maine, from York County to Penobscot County, Keller Williams can help independent agencies like Cote and Howe keep up with the changing global landscape of technology and big data.
